Berthold points out the strip and desk accessories to Jingle. He then opens the drawers.
One drawer is empty, the other contains a leather tome with the title "Summoning for the Novitiate Mage".

Jingle quietly & carefully moon walks over to investigate the circle.

Jingle pours through his scrolls before shrugging and heading over to the desk.

Did you leave me a present, Scmandta? I needed some new ink!

He high fives Cedric from across the room.

The book is written in magical script, like a spellbook. The writing on the floor is similar to the writing on the circle, and Jingle realizes it too will require read magic before he can decipher it.

I'm gonna get rad
I'm going to cast Spells
Shall I read the book
Or the portal to he'll?
Either way a spell's coming down

Jingle starts crafting a magical batch of read magic cookies. If no one has a preference, he'll read the circle.

Just to clarify - there are the runes on the circle, the text of the book, and the runes on the floor where it meets the wall next to the desk. So there are three distinct bits of magical writing. Read magic once cast allows reading two pieces of magical writing.

Three Magic Writings
Two I can read
And an elf in a mental twisty!

Good boys, shall I read the magic on the floor & wall, or the book and something else? The book might tell me what the runes mean, but it might crumble my cookies. I can try to stop reading the floor before my boots hit the fire great, but we still might end up with our strawberry milk spilled.Decisions, decisions.
