Hey guys,
So I've written my own OSR, and like most OSR games it leans a good bit on the ideas that have come before it.
I'm wondering how I go about paying tribute to the creators of white box for the ideas/conventions that inspired my own game?
I'm just a little nervous about name-dropping a bunch of people and companies who I've never interacted with in the past.
Does anyone have any experience giving credit within this community?
How to give credit?

Hi @darkgoldfish and welcome!
I assume you're talking about a thanks in the preface? The other, more formal way is at the end of the OGL, where you list the people/products that yours is based on, assuming they used the OGL also. But in the preface maybe just a short sentence is fine, something like "A big thanks to x, y and z, who came before and gave me my inspiration". I don't think that's overdone, even if you have never met the people who inspired you.
