Character Creation
Use this thread for in-progress PCs, or for any questions about character creation. Once done, they will go into the 'Finished Characters' thread. Use the latest core complete rules.
Roll 3d6 seven times, choose six rolls for stats, arrange to suit, the one roll left is for gold. Remember I'm doing DEX-based initiative and CHA can be important with initial reaction or parley in some situations.
Adding clarifications as we go:
- AC is ascending, with an unarmored base of 10. Apply shield and DEX adjustments if needed, but only to the front-facing AC.
- Fighters start with a +1 base-hit-bonus (BHB), rather than +0.
- Max HP at first level.
- STR bonuses to-hit and damage are for fighters only. Remember Fighters get to apply STR bonuses to missile weapons also, on top of any DEX bonuses.
- Encumbrance will be in the house rules, but basically you can carry a 'reasonable' amount of gear and 1200 coins each, no more. Apply any STR carry bonuses at a 20-to-1 ratio, so a +10lb. carry bonus is +200 coins, and you could then carry 1400 coins max. A large sack conveniently holds 1200 coins. So you never have to track what you carry apart from treasure .

Wow, those are decent rolls!
I did not explain the front/rear AC thing, which is for when you have a shield and/or a DEX adjustment, neither would apply to attacks from the rear. AAC is 'ascending AC', so chain is AC 14, and you have +1 with a DEX of 14, so your front/rear would be 15/14.

Thanks for clarification. Wasn’t sure about applying DEX.

Yep, using real dice is fine! Honor system here, I dislike games that enforce strict dice roller usage so I won't subject you guys to it . Although I'll be doing most of the in-game rolls anyway.
Ring mail is +3 (not +4 as you have it), but you have the numbers correct in your AC with your DEX penalty. Let's hope you get attacked from the rear all the time
Also, only fighters get the STR bonuses to-hit and damage.
Almost forgot - you get a 1st level spell due to your 16 WIS.
