Heimer works with Berthold and tries to identify any glyphs or writing upon the sphere.
The sphere is devoid of writing, you see just the face on one side.

Berthold introduces himself, I am Berthold, sometimes called Berthold the Bold. My friends call me Bert.

Might I ask who you are?

I am Philo of Byrithium, and I have just the one name. Can I call you Thunder, then? I can't thank you enough for picking me up, it gets dreary staring at the same thing for who knows how long, also I tend to prefer company and good conversation. Oh, I am hungry! Did I mention you can feed me gold coins? Right through the mouth there. Five or so should do it!

Cackling with glee, Salty flips a coin into Philo's open mouth.

Berthold tosses in two coins, winking at Salty as he ups the ante.

Schmidt does some quick finger calculations and adds two more coins. Then steps back to see what happens.

When you throw the coins into Philo's mouth, they enter and disappear with a satsifying "chink".

"Ah! Much better, I was so hungry! That should do me until tomorrow."

"By the way, have you heard there is a crazy mage running around this dungeon, name of...Pus or something. He has some treasure secreted in a trapped podium on the first level."

Philo pauses for a moment, then continues.

"Oh, also there is a spell-casting spider on level 2 that guards a big hoard of treasure. Not sure anyone has come back from that encounter alive, but you fellows look the part and might just make it. Take me with you! I do love an adventure!"

Five whoring tokens for information we already knew and some sot's waffle about a voodoo bug? That's not a great first day on the farm, Mr Fallow.

Salty strokes his chin and shrugs his shoulders.

probably just nervous on account of being with a new firm. You'lldo better tomorrow, right? Which way, fellas?

Should we take Philo of Byrithium with us? Like a cat in a purse? :)
Unless folks object, Schmidt will take the ball along.
