Cedric tries to do the math, "Wouldn't that be a quarterling?"

Berthold replies to Salty, Ho ho. Nice one there, short one.

Except I have no sisters: only fifteen brothers. You may have been paying a visit to my half-brother Osan—he’s often mistaken for a woman due to his magnificent hair. And being half-elvish he has small bones. Quite delicate, actually. I hope it was good for you.

My mother, on the other hand—may the gods have pity on her soul—she would have ensured you had a wonderful night. And she’d have left your purse empty. And I might have a half-halfling brother. Ugh. Perish the thought.
15 brothers? You could have hung a round door on that hole & housed the Gumjee clan! Salty snorts.

Come on, I'll go first. My head's not wreathed in cloud so I won't miss anything on the ground.

Salty unstrap his crossbow and starts walking.

I met a quartering once. Tiny little thing but you wouldn't believe the size of her ... well, let me just say she had to go through doors sideways.

You head south, into the darkened corridor. Suspos lights a torch, and I'll assume Salty has a torch as well if he is now in the lead (let me know if you want alternate lighting arrangements).

As you cross the first T-intersection, Salty's torch illuminates the door to the west. He can see the word "beware" is scrawled in dark red paint on the door. All is quiet. Your torchlight can't yet illuminate the doors you know are to the south (also assuming you have a map from prior sessions, showing what has been explored already).

Heimer has a lantern too I think. Though I’m not sure how much light we need.
Didn’t we try listening at the Beware door before?

Except you Betholdd. You probably didn't get anything from yours but panting and grunting

The haldling concentrates for a bit, listening.

Cedric mutters to no one in particular, "What a strange fellow, that Salty is! He seems to be more efficient than dear ol' Jingle, but more....salty."

If I'd stashed a bucket of loot in a grimy hole, I probably would draw attention with a sign, so I reckon there's a few greasy bars of metal butter behind that door. What say I open it up and make us all rich?

If you indeed can open a door, smirks Berthod.
