Yield or your life, demands Berthold.
Berthold will kill axe-man if he doesn’t yield.

19 too! Whew, what a save. But holy cannoli we took a beating. Thank goodness we have a stash of healing potions, not that it will do Gruff or Suspos any good.
Schmidt trusts his compadres to take care of axe-guy and will bind wounds and cast CLW on Heimer and Berthold as soon as he can.

Re: Delve #6
Salty maneuvers behind axe guy, looking to introduce his blade to the bandits kidneys and avenge gruff.
Re: Delve #6
Twig menaces the axe guy with his dagger, ready to strike him if he fails to yield.
Re: Delve #6
The order of actions will be: Axe-guy, Twig, Salty, Berthold, Heimer and Schmidt
Axe-guy (-2 to morale check 2d6-2=5) grins as blood drips over his teeth, "Now it's a fair fight!". Salty, Twig and Berthold are within easy striking distance (d3=2) - he turns to swing his axe at Twig (d20=3), but misses.
Twig stabs at axe-guy (d20=12), but his dagger glances off of plate armor.
Salty likewise tries to shank their lone opponent (d20=1), but he can't even connect.
Berthold (+2 for what is now a rear attack: d20+3=21 for d8+2=10 dmg), clearly fed up with this melee, beheads axe-guy with his bastard sword.
Schmidt helps with binding wounds and casts his healing spell on Berthold and Heimer (Berthold: d3+d6+1=8, Heimer: d6+1=6). Both feel much better.
The battle is won, at a cost. It is a scene of carnage. The four adventurers are dead, one headless, while Suspos's and Gruff's bodies lie next to the secret room, as yet unexplored.
Actions?
Status:
All of your opponents are dead.
Suspos and Gruff are dead.
Berthold and Heimer are fully healed.

Re: Delve #6
Doesn’t Gruff get a death save?
Berthold says, Let’s loot these guys, check out the secret room and then get back to town so we can give Suspos a decent burial.

Re: Delve #6
Correct, level-0 types don't get the save, and I count standard animal companions like dogs or mules in that category. I think an exception would only be made for something unique like a paladin's war horse.
Re: Delve #6
The next time we go to town, Berthold would Ike to find a classed war koala.

Salty wraps gruulff's body in his cloak and slings it over the mule.
