"I think Salty's just been invited to dinner...there's a dragon...a large white bugger. He's in a long cavern...about 70' long...it's much colder in there than here and the walls are lit by lichen. The dragon's lounging about on a pile of loot, but no one's likely to live long enough to spend it."

"I don't know how long Salty can keep him amused before he becomes a McHobbit. Plans for his rescue? I've one dose of concealing powder...what else we got?"

I’ve a few scrolls unlikely to help, says Uzmatazz. Maybe we can negotiate with the dragon. Do a task for him.

Twig replies, "Yes, like filling his belly."

"Maybe you are right, though. We did manage to kill all of his guards."

Berthold says, I have but my steel and that’s unlikely to be enough. It anyone were were to talk his way out of this, I’d think it Salty. Unless he begins giving the wyrm nicknames…

But maybe the mage is right. If the drake needs a task done, perhaps we can come out of this with our lives. Even a mouse might help a lion with a thorn.

Salty huffs and puffs his way back to the others. His face is almost as white as the dragon scale he carries.

He"s very nice, the halfling gasps, almost toppling as he tries to wipe sweat from his brow, a real gentle dragon. He's also very big. We should probably leave him alone for a while.

Twig looks at the scale. "Did he give that to you or did you take it?"

Berthold says, What promises did you make? Did he give you a task? Did he say why he didn’t eat you? We can supply him with wild man bodies if needed.

Uzmatazz reaches for the scale. Could be useful as a spell reagent… he mutters.
