Berthold warns the others, drops the spear and bow and arrows down. He also makes sure someone catches the sack of silver.
Then takes a peek in the crack

He sees a small earthen tunnel rising up and away from him, just big enough for a human to crawl through. He can smell a draft of fresh air.
Re: Delve #2
He calls down to the others to inform them of this and then tries the chest. Is it heavy? Does it appear affixed? Are there any obvious cords, wires, or levers that would indicate a trap if he were to move it?
Re: Delve #2
"Be careful," Schmidt calls up, "if the ropes can't be used, maybe gravity can?"
Holy Schmidt He swears by his pretty floral bonnet...

Whoever "gravity" may be, he'd better stand back when that chest gets pushed off the ledge!
Re: Delve #2
It is resting on the stone, you don't see any obvious traps or gimmicks, etc. The only curious thing is that the metal corners are jammed with bits of dried dirt or mud. It appears closed with a simple latch. If you try to move it a bit it weighs maybe 50 lbs.
Re: Delve #2
Berthold ties the end of the rope around it as best he can.
Take up the slack, boys, let’s let her down easy like and he lets the chest over the edge so the others can ease it down.

Bonner flexes his massive muscles and focuses his tiny brain to ease that baby down!
Re: Delve #2
Bel'xor will help with lowering the chest. Wennic and Otto will stand ready, closer to the door, and make sure the party's not surprised by anything that might enter.
