Cedric fails to hit Fin, but Berthod and Heimer work together to finish him off with bastard sword and spear.

Jingle makes a save vs. poison: d20 = 17 SAVES, and a save vs death for being at -5 HP: d20 = 19 SAVES Jingle lives with 1hp!

Schmidt rushes in to tend to Jingle, who is barely alive, but after some magical healing, Jingle is back [d6+1 = 6hp back, so Jingle is back at his 3hp max].

Status:

Door man and Fin are dead.
Jingle is alive and has been fully healed by Schmidt.

Actions?

Code: Select all

+-----------+---------+
|Name |HP |
+-----------+---------+
|Jingle |3/3 |
+-----------+---------+
|Schmidt |12/12 |
+-----------+---------+
|Cedric |8/8 |
+-----------+---------+
|Berthod |8/8 |
+-----------+---------+
|Heimer |6/6 |
+-----------+---------+
Mechanics:

Round 3:

Cedric vs. Fin: d20+2 = 11 MISS
Berthod vs. Fin: d20+2 = 22 HIT for max dmg of d8+2 = 10
Heimer spear vs. Fin: d20 = 15 HIT for d6 = 2dmg Fin is dead!

Cedric says, "Don't lose hope, little Jingle. You may come out of this yet."

You saved me, Scmandta! When we get back home I'll clear out Rudolph's stable for a month. No, a YEAR!

Berthold does a double take when he sees Jingle standing. I thought your bell was rung, Jingle.

Then he sets about looting Fin and Dörmân.

Dangerous fight
Holey sprite
Heart still beats
We won the fight
Round yon brigands
Filthy and wild
With brave heroes
So strong and well styled
Jingle, grateful, gives tha' anks
Grateful Jingle gives thanks

Snow and sleighbells dust the air as Jingle pulls a brightly coloured parchment from his dimensional pockets and writes the names of his companions in green calligraphic scripts at the top of the nice list

"Thank you, human friends, I thought my goose was cooked and about to served up with cranberry sauce, roast potatoes and washed down with egg nog!

Jingle lives, let us all rejoice!
No poisoned blade doth still his voice,
Tis on his roll he writ us all,
And not his blood on dungeon wall

Then he sets about looting Fin and Dörmân.
Between the two you find:

- Two long swords, one light crossbow, 9 quarrels, two wine skins (almost full), one backpack with dried rations and 11 torches.
- Two human-sized suits of chain armor - the one on Dörmân is curiously light for its size.
- A sack with 750 gold coins.
- Fin has a vial of what you presume is poison, it is the same color and consistency of the remnants of the poison on his blade and on all of the crossbow bolts.
- Fin has a small lump of green stone on a silver chain worn as a necklace.

The door to your south has closed on its own already.

Are there class restrictions on the poison?
Doesn’t look like it. Chain sounds nice Berthod :)
I’ll put the necklace and GPS in the loot thread.

Lawful PCs would probably not use it, but I can't think of any class restrictions.
